Hi, I'm Roby Stancel!

Roby Stancel is a leading advisor to the mining industry, with a wealth of experience in connecting design thinking innovation and business strategy. As a partner at VCI, he has developed technology roadmaps, strategy, and cultural transformations for mining houses worth over $750 billion, including BHP, Rio, Vale, South32, and more. Throughout his career, Roby has managed the technology strategy and roadmap for ATIC, the world's largest technology innovation consortium in mining, with over 150 partner companies. As a member of IDEO's global executive committee, he played a crucial role in the invention of Design Thinking. Roby also held the position of Head of Product Development and Design at Nanosolar, an early unicorn and the best-funded startup of its time. Roby serves on several boards and committees, such as the technology advisory board at Sibanye Stillwater, the investment committee at Stanford Alumni Ventures/Spike, and the startup jury of the EU's EIT Raw Materials. As an angel investor and board member, he supports startups in various countries, including Canada, the US, UK, EU, Switzerland, South Africa, and Australia.
